micro fiber

The production of nonwovens is a highly specialised and technical process that makes use of various technologies. The finished nonwovens are used in numerous areas of application – from hygiene products to the automotive industry.
The basis for every nonwoven is the fibres. These serve as the raw material and play a decisive role in the properties of the end product. In most cases, synthetic raw materials such as polyester, polyamide and polypropylene are used, but viscose and other raw materials from renewable sources are also used. Depending on the end application, the necessary product properties are adjusted by blending the different fibre properties. Another criterion in the selection of fibres is the fibre titre – this describes the fineness or thickness of a fibre and has a direct influence on the softness, strength and function of the nonwoven.
